Roy’s Rangers 1… Litter Bugs F.C 0

When push comes to shove, the ones that stand out are the ones that put up and   pick up!!Roy Richards

This could well apply to local resident Roy  Richards, Commercial Street. Many people  from Senghenydd will be accustomed to  seeing Roy every morning from 8am (yes!  8am every day!) walking the streets of the  village collecting and picking up the litter that  you or your neighbour so kindly deposited. (No you don’t deserve praise, he does).
Many are under the illusion that Roy is an  employee of the Council, NO he is Not he is  one of a very important breed, he is a volunteer. He has taken the positive step that if  he is to get a full time job he will use the time until then to make a difference.

Roy’s sense of community spirit is inspirational; it goes to show that anyone, of  any  age and ability can make a difference in their community. The challenge must  then be  for Abertridwr to discover a jewel in their midst. Roy’s efforts are   complemented by the ‘formal’ cleansing crew who work closely with Roy. With the  support of the Local  Authorities Public services officers, we are seeing the  development of an Aber Valley  Green Team, that’s where you come in…If you would  like  further details of how YOU  can contribute to a cleaner, greener Aber Valley,  contact  the Communities First  Partnership office on 02920 830444 or email  abervalleycp@tiscali.co.uk
