CROSSING THE LINE

Safety First, Partnership supports residents’ efforts…
Crossing The Line

After nearly Two years without the benefit  of a supervised crossing warden pupils  and   parents are now a step closer to  securing a much  needed safe haven  across the   busy B2468 (Commercial  Street, Senghenydd)

… Safety campaign takes to the streets to secure safer crossing measures.

Numerous petitions, public meetings and representations from the Communities   Partnership (AVCP) have finally proven fruitful. The level of public support has seen   two applications for the post of lolli-pop person, (who should be in post by the end of   term!!) as well as the Council agreeing to review the junction area within the traffic   order related to the recent double yellowing.
The cost of any scheme hopefully being met under the renewal umbrella. Recent   traffic speed assessments were not helped by the vandalism of the equipment known   as VMS. The flashing red sign was the target of mindless idiots, but undeterred local   people with the support of the Partnership are much closer.
Inconsiderate parents who bring their children to school by car have also been   prompted to the dangers of blocking the vision of those crossing the road, by parking   directly opposite the school entrance You know who YOU are!
